Sharing digital photos is as easy as saying PDF!
London, UK – January 2008

Blubox Software Limited, part of ROK Entertainment Group, today announced the launch of PowerPressed Photo, the latest addition to the range of PowerPressed software optimisation tools. Designed to instantly create digital photo albums in the Portable Document Format (PDF) PowerPressed Photo offers tremendous value for anyone wishing to share high quality digital photographs via email as an attachment or on the Internet quickly and efficiently.

"We are very excited about PowerPressed Photo", commented Ian Shay, Product Director, "photo sharing is such an every day part of life we are particularly proud to bring to market a utility which makes photo sharing quick, easy and accessible to all users"

The product will initially be released on the PC platform and is fully compatible with all current Microsoft operating systems including Vista. "We intend to quickly release versions for other platforms, including Mobile and Apple Mac later this year" announced Ian Shay.

One of the key advantages of using PowerPressed Photo is that it allows users to upload photo albums to mobile phones and hand held devices as the process of creating a PDF document substantially reduces the image file size without effecting the image quality.

The decision to default the PowerPressed Photo file format to PDF was based on the obvious ubiquitous nature of this file format and the fact that most PC's and Smart phones will already have a PDF reader installed solving a key logistical problem when developing a client based solution. Developed using a range of open source components in the US, PowerPressed Photo is the first of a range of software tools in development at BluBox designed to work with the PDF format.

"As optimisation specialists we have always been very interested in developing solutions that compliment and enhance the PDF file format" commented Ian Shay. "We believe that in developing software utilities that leverage this highly efficient file format we are automatically improving the optimisation proposition for our customers and maximising the potential market reach".

PowerPressed Photo is the first in a line of utilities that BluBox are currently developing. A 'Pro' version is planned for release in late 2008 which will offer additional functionality including supporting document and image scanning which is another key market for the product according to Peter Boswell the company Sales & Marketing Director.
